Heat Shrink Dome Enclosure
The 144-fiber dome splice closure protects fiber cable joints and splices in outside plant environments. It accommodates up to 144 fiber cores across a modular tray layout. Therefore, network teams gain clean cable management. It uses a dedicated silicone rubber sealing gasket together with a heat shrink entry structure. As a result, this system prevents environmental ingress. Featuring five cable entrances, this 144-fiber dome splice closure provides flexible cable entry options. Consequently, it supports both straight-through mid-span access and branching lines in outdoor networks.
Key Features
-
Fiber Capacity: Supports a maximum capacity of 144 fibers utilizing up to 6 splice trays, with each individual tray holding up to 24 single fusion splices.
-
Sealing Performance: Utilizes heat-shrink technology to ensure a seal upon heating; features an IP68-rated sealing structure that prevents the ingress of environmental moisture and dust.
-
Mechanical Protection: Provides an impact strength of 16 N.m, corresponding to an IK09 rating.
-
Cable Entrances: Features 5 cable entrances supporting cable outer diameters ranging from 8 mm to 17.5 mm (with an option up to 24 mm).
Product Configuration
- Cover and Base Set: Includes 1 cover measuring 450 x 230 mm and 1 base set made of polypropylene reinforced with glass fiber (PP+GF).
- Mechanical Enclosure Clamp: Includes 1 plastic hoop assembly. This part secures the perimeter interface between the cover and base.
- Splice Trays and Bracket: Includes 1 plastic tray holder to hold splice trays and store uncut buffer tubes. It also includes fiber splice trays configured per project core counts up to 6 trays.
- Environmental Seal Components: Includes 1 seal fitting for waterproof base protection. Besides this part, it includes heat shrink materials for cable entry ports.
- Mounting Hardware: Includes 1 pole hoop set. As a result, crews can mount the enclosure assembly onto outdoor utility poles.
- Fiber Management Accessories: Includes fiber splice protective tubes matching the ordered core count, nylon ties (tray count multiplied by 3), 1 piece of labeling paper for identification, 1 roll of insulating tape, and 1 meter of EVA transparent buffer tube protective hose.
Applications
- Outside plant (OSP) optical fiber distribution networks
- Aerial pole-mounted fiber joint enclosures
- Outdoor telecommunications backbone splicing junctions
- FTTH drop and branching cable interconnection points
FAQ
What is the maximum splice capacity of this closure?
The unit supports a maximum capacity of 96 single-fiber splices when configured with 4 splice trays containing 24 splices each.
What types of cable ports are integrated into the base?
The base features 5 ports: 4 individual round ports for branching cables and 1 oval port for straight-through loop access.
What cable sizes fit into the entry ports?
The closure accommodates fiber cables with outer diameters ranging from 7 mm to 21 mm.
Can technicians reopen this enclosure after deployment?
Yes. The structural dome allows re-entry for line maintenance, testing, and expansion without causing structural damage to previously spliced fibers.
Which deployment environments are supported?
This unit mounts aerially, secures to exterior walls, pulls into underground duct vaults, or buries directly underground.
The fiber optic dome closure delivers robust environmental protection and organized management for high-density outdoor fiber networks. With an IP68 rating, 144-core capacity, and durable polypropylene with glass fiber construction, it provides reliable performance for outside plant fiber splicing applications.
