Bimetallic Compression Lugs – Copper Aluminium Tubular Type Lugs

Key Features

  • Designed for aluminum-to-copper electrical connections

  • Prevents galvanic corrosion between dissimilar metals

  • Aluminum barrel friction-welded to copper palm

  • Deep stepped indentation crimping compatibility

  • Suitable for flexible and stranded conductors

  • Long service life in harsh operating environments

  • Operating Temperature: -40°C to +110°C

Bimetallic Compression Lugs are designed for applications where aluminum conductors must be terminated onto copper bus bars or copper contact points. When aluminum and copper come into direct contact using standard lugs, galvanic corrosion may occur. Telexc bimetallic lugs eliminate this risk by providing a stable and corrosion-resistant transition between dissimilar metals.

Each lug features an aluminum barrel friction-welded to a copper palm, ensuring optimal electrical conductivity, mechanical strength, and long-term durability. These lugs are widely used in low and medium-voltage systems, renewable energy installations, switchgear, and control panels where reliability and safety are critical.

International Standard Compliance

  • IEC 61238-1 Class A – Electrical and mechanical performance

  • NFC 20-130 – Low voltage connectors

  • NFC 63-061 Class A – Compression connectors

  • RoHS Compliant
